Belgin born Marleen De Waele-De Bock graduated from art school in Belgum. She lived and worked in Mozambique, and then relocated to South Africa, where she worked as an artist and fashion designer. In 2001, she moved to the United States and now lives in Florida.
The artist's work masterfully employs strong principles of design while balancing that discipline with the artist's emotional response to natural forms. It is interesting that landscapes are usually associated with horizontal canvases, but De Waele-De Bock's canvases are almost always vertical.
