Before The Feast

This is one of Reinike's symbolic paintings from his Arch Series. The pavers in the piazza form a cross, creating a spiritual reference.  From the balcony above, subtle figures witness the frenzy of the pigeons below. A single white dove is found in the window within the central arch. A pair of lemon trees are contained in pots within the squares.

The painting is large, but like a dream,  it has a delicate softness that invites inspection and conversation.
