Whose Order — Watercolor Study

The watercolor study is framed using a white archival mat and backing.

The painting and study show three arches open to a world bathed in warm light outside. Inside, the room is darker, its checkerboard floor holding three feathers. Faint shadow‑forms appear along the walls.

Suspended between these spaces is a long blue panel with rows of angels gathered around a central figure. In the study the figure is in an arch outlined in red. In the oil painting, the red outline is replaced with a glowing lighter blue arch. The paintings explore the threshold between earthly patterns and celestial mystery, asking which realm sets the terms—and who, exactly, is in charge of the order.
