Reef

Reef  is one of three paintings by Henry Callahan that share a palette of related colors and a feeling of shifting space. Callahan creates each composition with tiny dots of color, densely scattered across the canvas. The colors seem to move and intermingle, creating changing relationships. Seen together with Shoreline (top right) and Junction (below), the three paintings retain a strong visual connection.
